Idol’s recording partners changed

Chayce Beckham’s debut album, Bad For Me, came out in April 2024 with 19 Recordings, Wheelhouse Records and BMG.

Beckham wrote or co-wrote nine of the thirteen songs on Bad For Me. The label said he wrote its three solo compositions before he won Idol: 23, Mama and Drink You Off My Mind. He performed Mama on the show.

Universal’s agreement was announced in August 2010. As reported in 2021, BMG considered artists for signing, and the winner had no automatic or compulsory BMG contract. In January 2026, plans were reported for 19 and Atlantic Music Group to work with several contestants.

BBR announced Beckham’s Dirt Floor as released in July 2026.

Beckham wrote Dirt Floor with Brandon Kinney and John Pierce. The label described its sound as dark and western, and Beckham said the song was about feeling at home with the right person.
