Loren Allred went out in the first week of the 2012 Voice playoffs

Allred grew up with musician parents: her mother is a classical soprano and voice teacher, and her father was the director of the Pittsburgh Bach Choir. At Berklee College of Music she posted videos on YouTube, and the support of Ne-Yo led to a record deal with Island Def Jam. On September 12, 2012, she sang “When Love Takes Over” in the blind auditions of the third season of The Voice. Two coaches turned, and she joined Team Adam. Levine kept her in the battles, with “Need You Now,” and in the knockouts, with “You Know I'm No Good.” She went out on November 5, after “All Around the World” in the first week of the live playoffs, and tied for 13th place.

She was the singing voice behind “Never Enough”

In 2014 Allred worked as a playback singer on a film musical that the Broadway songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul were developing. She was cast as the singing voice of Rebecca Ferguson's character, the singer Jenny Lind, in The Greatest Showman. Her song, “Never Enough,” reached number 88 on the Hot 100. In April 2022 she sang it in her audition for Britain's Got Talent and got Amanda Holden's Golden Buzzer. “I was more comfortable singing behind the scenes,” she told Simon Cowell. She finished ninth in the final.

2023–24

She sang Aerith’s theme song in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

In the action role-playing game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the character Aerith sings the theme song, “No Promises to Keep.” Nobuo Uematsu, who wrote the music for much of the Final Fantasy series, composed it, and he told the PlayStation Blog that the game's creative director, Tetsuya Nomura, wanted Allred to sing it. She was announced as the singer at The Game Awards in December 2023. Allred recorded in the United States while the team worked from Tokyo. When the call kept dropping, she asked the team to trust her to sing the song as she saw fit, and they agreed. “There is something about her singing voice that is truly captivating,” Uematsu said. The single came out on March 20, 2024.

2026

She sang two songs for the 2026 Pokémon World Championships

On August 14, 2026, The Pokémon Company released the four-song soundtrack of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships on its YouTube channel. Allred sings two of the songs: “Champions,” which Pokémon called “an anthem that captures the spirit of our collective dream to become Pokémon champions,” and “Love Of The Game.” The championships took place in San Francisco from August 28 to 30, 2026, and the Chase Center was the venue for Championship Sunday.
