Her biography says an RMG page reported a 1999 signing with RCA Records and Arista Nashville, and that she was the first artist signed to Britney Spears' production company. Fox News on June 30, 2008, said she was signed as a teen and dropped before recording. Neither page dates the drop.

Ren-Hen Records released her first album, Devoted, on July 19, 2005. During this time she sang for two years at Cowboy's nightclub in Arlington with the band Six Shooter.
